We are organizing a first for Grove Park - a national competition aimed at getting Over 35 squash players from the North West Counties as well as from across the UK to get involved and play in competitive squash.

Organisation

  1. Tournament guarantees everyone at least 2 games (depending on entry numbers each age group category will be either a straight knockout and plate or a pool/league format)
  2. We aim to run the tournament in a format similar to that used in the England Squash Masters Regional tournaments.
  3. Start times on Friday will be from midday depending on numbers in each age group - please advise us of the earliest you are able to play on Friday. The tournament finals will be 10am-2pm Sunday.
  4. All matches to use HI-HO (English) scoring with the exception of the Over 35 & Over 40 mens events which will use point-a-rally scoring to 11.
  5. In the event of limited entry some age groups may be amalgamated.
  6. M&S vouchers for winners and runners up
  7. As home to past/present Masters Champions we hope to have Yawar Abbas, Laura Mylotte and Rod Boswell competing in their respective age groups
  8. Conditions of entry are detailed on the entry form.

  1. BBQ on Saturday (6-8pm) included in entry fee
  2. Courtesy of our partners,Total Fitness, free water bottles and bananas - although we're wondering where the TF logo will fit onto the bananas!!
  3. Food and drink (ie. tea/coffee as well as our club bar) available to purchase throughout tournament
  4. Ample free parking at the club

  1. Man City & Man United both do tours of their grounds (one will be at home over the tournament weekend!)

  4. Model train rides (for adults and children!) on Sundays around the park next door!

…. as well as Manchester City Centre shops, restaurant and bars, China Town and the Trafford Centre is 30 mins by train/car
