for the 2nd vs 3rd team match when he had superb victory over the very talented
youngster, Morgan Hibberd.

DECEMBER, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Steve
Husdan
The player of the month for December goes to,
with 29 points, the Club Chairman Steve Husdan. He managed to pick up some
great wins at the top of the seventh team that has been struggling so far
this season.
Second goes jointly to Alastair
Atkinson and Murray
Lonsdale with 28 points and have both been unbeaten this month, in fact
the 3rd team has taken maximum points from it's last 5 matches as they pull
away at the top of the third division.
NOVEMBER, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Iain
Stewart
The player of the month for November goes to 2nd
team captain, Iain Stewart . Iain wins the prize for a second consecutive
month by stretching his unbeaten run to 8 matches.
There is a three way tie for the second this month between
Jez Atkinson, who is hoping to lead his 3rd team to promotion,
Morgan Hibberd, who is doing well since moving up to the 2nd Division
and new boy Mark Mulligan who is get to lose a match.
OCTOBER, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Iain
Stewart, Ben
Woodcock & Chas
Hughes
The first player of the month for the 2004/05
season goes jointly to Iain Stewart, Ben Woodock & Chas Hughes.
Iain hasn't looked back since losing out on the first day of the season
from match ball and 2 games up, winning 4 matches on the bounce.
Ben has been able to play regularly for the teams for the first time
and his form has really picked up as a result.
Despite winning, Chas seems to be moving his way down the teams from
the 7th in the first week to the 10th last week (I suggest he starts losing
, so he's bound to be promoted!)
SEASON 2003-04
MARCH, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Ky
Hibberd
The player of the month for March goes to, with
35 points, Ky Hibberd. Ky, collecting the monthly prize for third time this
season did so with yet another 4 wins including his 2nd Division debut.
Second goes to John
Bayley with 31 points and third place goes to Chris
Kenrick with 28 points.
FEBRUARY, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Terry
Reid
The player of the month for February goes to old
(but not quite as old he looks) campaigner, Terry Reid with 36 points. After
a fairly average season he has found some form of late with four wins from
five .
Second goes to Carl
McColgan with 30 points and third place goes to Phil
Stafford with 29 points.
JANUARY, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Ky
Hibberd & Morgan
Hibberd
The player of the month for January goes jointly
to Morgan and Ky Hibberd (31pts). Ky wins the prize for a
second consecutive month.
They have stretched their winning streak to an incredible nine matches despite
rapidly moving up the teams and now starting to play in the third division.
They have improved so much in the short space of time they have been playing
in the teams, it will be intriguing to see just how far they have gone by
the end of this season.
(They were ranked
3th and 5th in England at Under 13 level but will now have to step up to
the Under 15 category.)
Third place goes to John
Thompson with 30pts, who has been in top form since Christmas including
a fantastic gritty performance against the 2nd Team's, Henry Smit in a great
match to watch.
DECEMBER, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Ky
Hibberd
The player of the month for December goes to youngster,
Ky Hibberd (32pts) and his twin brother, Morgan
Hibberd (31pts), comes second. Ky & Morgan are the youngest members
of the Grove Park teams at only 13 years old but have made quite an impact
since their introduction to team squash last month.
They have dealt with everything that has been put in front of them and have
quickly moved up from Division 5 into Division 4 without losing a match
between them.
They had shown their potential last summer when they had considerable success
in the doubles tournament playing against
top class players.
They were ranked
3th and 5th in England at Under 13 level but will have to step up to the
Under 15 category.
Third place goes to super sub, Tony
Foulds with 28pts
NOVEMBER, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Patrick
Foster
The player of the month for November goes to Patrick
Foster. After labouring in first few matches, Patrick's season has really
picked up over in recent weeks.
The break through seemed to come with the visit of Liverpool when the up and coming player, Ashley Flathers was comfortably dismissed to take the match. He then when on to beat Cheshire No.1, Paul Lord and 5 times World Champion, Sarah Fitzgerald in and excellent display of lob and dropping.
It took ex-Grove Park favourite, Derek Ryan, to stop his winning run and even then he had Derek on the ropes at 2-0 up before losing out in five.
After leaving the PSA tour (reaching a world ranking
in the 60's) at the end of last season he now seems to be finding the balance
between his squash and a full time job with Manchester Leisure.
Runners up are the team's oldest player (and founder member), Graham
Gilbert, and Mark
Davenport who after an up and down season last year is really finding
his winning form (3-2 naturally!) at the bottom of Division 3.
OCTOBER, PLAYER OF THE MONTH -
Jonathon Crossland
The player of the month for October goes to Jonathon
Crossland. Terribly keen Jonathon joined Grove Park over the summer and
is new to team squash but has adapted quickly. Since losing in the A's v
B's and the first match of the season 3-2 after going 2 up , he has learnt
from his mistakes and hasn't dropped a game, despite moving up into the
traditionally tough 3rd Division. His hard running style should serve him
well over the season.
Runners up were 10th Team captain, Chas Hughes and our youngest team
player, in his first season, Marc Pass.
